PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH GROUPS MARINE SCIENCE AND ECOLOGICAL TRIPS
Sailing is at the center of everything we do on the "Rosa Del Mar". We have taken dozens of youth on sailing excursions from Key Largo to Key West. Our largest client is the Boy Scouts of America at the National High Adventure Sea Base in Islamorada, FL (www.bsaseabase.org). Each day your captain and mate provide sailing instruction using our own curriculum, a program specially adapted to sailing the waters of the Florida Keys. Sailing may be confusing at first, but you'll quickly learn with hands-on experience. Within days you'll be speaking the language as you trim the sails, steer a straight course and navigate to a protected harbor. Sailing a 41' sloop will teach you teamwork, planning and responsibility. You and your crew will be rewarded with a sense of achievement, an appreciation of nature and an adventure you won't find anywhere else.
While sailing on the "Rosa Del Mar", you'll be surrounded by the perfect marine biology classroom-the clear blue water and coral reefs of the Florida Keys, America's only living reef! Our reefs are just teeming with extraordinary sea creatures and plant life. And you'll be snorkeling right there with them! Our on-board marine biologist will educate you and other students through hands-on experience every day while on board. Our marine science program is built around our sailing program so there will be plenty to do!
6 day/5 night sailing trip-$3,200 per group. This includes all food and provisions for the week. Maximum number of crew is 7 with at least 2 adult leaders. A 50% deposit is required at least one month before the charter date to reserve.
